Hair Regrowth Chart

There are two types of hair in the adult; vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hairs are soft, fine, and usually short. They may be colorless giving the impression of “hairless skin”. Examples of vellus hair in women are found on the face, chest, back, etc. Terminal hairs are longer, coarser, and thicker such as those found in the scalp, pubic area and axilla of both men and women. In men, they are also found on the face and body.

The following chart details standard regrowth times for vellus and terminal hair on various parts of the body:

Any hair that appears before the estimated after-treatment times indicated on this chart is growing from untreated  follicles. It is extremely important that the client understand this prior to the beginning of the treatments.
