Re-opening amidst COVID-19 & What it will look like at Calida Electrolysis

COVID-19

It’s been a while but the doors to Calida Electrolysis will be opening once again to offer permanent hair removal services starting June 12, 2020. Previously cancelled appointments will be rescheduled over the next few days, and new appointments will be booked as soon as possible. The clinic and treatment time will look a lot different than it did before we closed our doors in March 2020, and your assistance and patience is required while small, careful steps are being taken into the smooth running of our clinic during this difficult time. The health and safety of everyone being our number one priority.

Calida Electrolysis is completely committed to protecting the health and well-being of clients and our community and in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, new office protocols have been implemented. As the response to COVID-19 is a fluid situation, and I am following the guidelines recommended by the BC Medical Officer, I will be updating Calida Electrolysis’s protocols as needed.

I ask that you please stay home if you or your family have travelled outside of BC in the last 14 days, have any flu-like symptoms or you have been in contact with someone that has.

Pre-appointment Screening:  At the time of booking and before entering the establishment you will be asked a number of health, employment and travel questions. A contactless thermometer may be used for screening purposes.

Social Distancing: Please respect the recommended 2-meter physical distancing whenever possible during your visit. Understandably at certain times during treatment, this may not be possible.

Hand Hygiene/ Face Coverings:  I require all clients to use the provided hand sanitizer as you enter the clinic. I also ask that you wear a mask to your appointment to prohibit the transference of any droplets during any communication we might have before and after your treatment. Due to the nature of some treatments it may not be possible for you to be wearing a mask for the duration of the treatment. During these times I ask that you refrain from conversation.

Reduced Office Occupancy:  Including myself, only one other person will be permitted on the premises at any time.  I ask that you attend your appointment alone.  Please make arrangements for childcare before arriving for your appointment - if children will be accompanying you, they are to remain safely in your vehicle.  Please inform me ahead of time if any assistance will be required. Remain in your vehicle until your scheduled appointment time. No early or late arrivals please.

Reduced Office Contact Time:  In order to limit in-office exposure time, initial consultations will be offered using video calling. If the afore mentioned is not an option, a phone consultation will be offered. If in-house consultation is needed, a facemask must be worn at all time. Please email, text or call if you have any extra questions.  Appointment times for uncovered face treatments will be limited to one hour appointments at a time. Multiple hours can be booked if a facemask can be worn during all or half of the treatment time.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Due to the nature of services offered at Calida Electrolysis, appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn at all times. These include a face shield, face mask and disposable gloves as well as special workwear. The face shield may slow down the treatment speed you are used to due to a slight obstruction and disturbance it causes to my optical aids, and I will require your patience in this regard. Enhanced handwashing procedures has been set in place.

Disinfecting Procedures:  Enhanced cleaning between clients and frequent touchpoints has been implemented. Disposables and single used items will be used wherever possible and discarded appropriately after use. All equipment, instruments, furniture and touchpoints  will be sterilized and disinfected with professional grade sterilants and disinfectants, as required after each client and each use. Debit or Credit Card tap options are available for your convenience, reducing extra touchpoints. Cash, swipe and pin payment options will still be available as well, with extra care being taken to sanitize the payment station after each use.  No food or drink containers will be allowed on the premises and no drinks will be offered at this time.

The washroom will be thoroughly sanitized and disinfected after each use. Areas to be disinfected after each use will be including but not limited to the treatment bed, machines, lamps, optical instruments and equipment, face shield, trollies, chairs, counter tops, faucets, all switches, doors, door frames and door handles, doorbell, phone, radio and stationary products along with all pre and post skincare containers.
